A real pioneer of surfing photography in France, Sylvain Cazenave planted the foot of his tele lens  in the sand of all the beaches of thisplanet. After having spent the first years of his life in Africa, in the Sixties, Sylvain moved to Biarritz with his family where he discovers the joys of surfing. Teenager, he became a part of the french national Surf team.

Very soon , he is passionate with Photography while continuing his studies of science-economic and english in the University of Bordeaux. in 1975 he spends some time in Tahiti. There he got a revelation. He decided to devote his life to the ocean and to cross the world in search of the most beautiful wave. His voyages took him along to the four corners of planet: Australia, California, Fiji, New Zealand and of course Hawaii… Today, these magic places haven't anymore secrets for him. Since 1990, Sylvain Cazenave has been a member of The Surfrider Foundation, an association which has as a role to protect the ocean, waves and the littoral.

His photographs are published in the largest magazines: Surfer Journal, Sports Illustraded, Surf Session, Paris-Match, le Figaro Magazine, Madame Figaro, Vogue, Elle, l'Equipe...… and the famous Surf brands , Quiksilver, Oxbow, Roxy, Rip Curl, Bic, Neil Pryde… call upon him for their advertising campaigns. Lastly, the Corbis agency distributes his photographs in the whole world.
